Limestone Townhouse
This gut renovation, rooftop addition, and rear facade extension to a landmarked townhouse, located a block from one of New York’s most desirable parks, takes inspiration from the unique curved Regency limestone front facade. Subtly different textural treatments to the same limestone material, such as sandblasting, brushing, and polishing, creates the design articulation.
The dramatic oversized kitchen is located at the heart of the house in a double height atrium, given the importance in the chef-client’s life. The excavated cellar contains a private dining room inspired space as a contrast to the otherwise light-filled character of the house.
The rooftop addition contains a full spa and wellness program along with a workout area with panoramic views of New York City.
